It is a membership-based scheme organised by The Community Transport Association (CTA) and designed to enhance driving standards and promote safer operation of minibuses.

First Aid
In emergencies, first aiders can act to prevent situations from becoming major incidents and can limit injuries through prompt action. The one day course covers Health and Safety (first aid) regulation, managing an incident, first aid priorities, treating of an unconscious casualty, Recovery Position, resuscitation (CPR), choking, shock, bleeding and common workplace injuries.
Passenger Assistant
If you have care or supervision of passengers travelling by road (including cars, taxis, minibuses or large buses) you should take this course. Drivers should take the course if they also work as a Passenger Assistant (PA), have a dual role or work as a team with a Passenger Assistant. (Passenger Assistants can be referred to by many different names, including passenger escorts, passenger carers, care assistants, chaperones and helpers).

Theory training and assessment for the driver MiDAS certificate is delivered via the CTA website in a 90 minute, 10 module interactive E-Learning session. This covers the legal responsibilities of drivers and the essential theoretical knowledge needed to provide safe, legal, and comfortable journeys.
