We manage an accessible transport fleet of minibuses for our membership of third sector organisations in Tower Hamlets who provide a variety of services ranging from social care for the elderly, people with learning and/or physical disabilities, faith organisations and groups supporting leisure and sports activities.
We support our members and partners in providing high-quality services through the provision of training, garage services, fleet management and through collaborating on community projects.
Volunteers are a key part of our community. As well as adding value to our work, volunteering brings benefits to the volunteers themselves for example through developing confidence and employability skills. Many of our drivers are volunteers and they also act as passenger assistants and make up our board of trustees.
Community Transport is a membership organisation. Membership is open to third sector organisations in Tower Hamlets who wish to use our transport services.
All our drivers have a minimum of the MIDAS minibus driving certification. See our recent graduates and how to get involved here.
We are staffed by a small team and supported by volunteers who can fulfil roles as Drivers, Trustees, Administrators and more.
THCT is managed by a Management Committee (also known as Trustees, Management Board). See details of our management and how to get involved here.
